Since 1986

San Seng Lee (Mersing) Sdn Bhd was established in 1986 as a rice packaging and trading company. We set out with an aim to provide Malaysia a high quality level of rice while offering our clients a high rate of delivery service.

30 years in the trade

With 30 years in the trade, we have become one of the largest distributor and wholesaler in the southern states, extensively covering the whole of Johor, Melaka, Negeri to a wide range of consumer preferences while simultaneously maintaining an efficient process. We strive to provide the highest quality of rice at a reasonable price.

Our main house brands are the Phoenix Jewel and Sukahati range. Both ranges offer different grades of rice that can be harmoniously paired with all kinds of foods and dishes that Malaysia loves.

The factors to produce the Top Quality rice

Our rice milling factory, Kilang Beras San Seng Lee (Kedah) Sdn Bhd is situated at the heart of rice production in Kedah. This allows us to closely control the quality of rice and also maintaining a cost-efficient supply chain. Rice harvested from each season can differ by a huge margin depending on the crops and also workmanship of farmers. Other important factors such as the weather, humidity, exposure to light, harvesting seasons and soil quality are also taken into account before we grade and process them.

The grading part for each batch of rice is crucial in determining the suitability for our end consumers. For example, imported rice from Thailand pairs well with savoury dishes with heavy flavours. Basmathi rice is perfect for making briyani dishes, and local rice is best had with Malaysian dishes that we know and love.
